Bio of Harry Price
Scouting History:
Mr. Harry Price has been a member of the BSA for 10 years as a youth and 42 years as an adult leader. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. His leadership positions have been a Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Associate Explorer Advisor, Explorer Advisor, Venturing Crew Advisor, Assistant District Commissioner, Advisor for the Detroit Area Council Venturing Officers Association, Sunset District Training Chairman and Training Staff member for 20 years. Harry has also been an Assistant Course Director and Course Director for the DAC Woods and Water Junior Leader Training Course and an Assistant Course Director for six Wood Badge Training Courses. He is also an NRA Certified Instructor and Range Safety Officer, as well as a Leave No Trace Trainer and Master Educator. Mr. Price also has been on four University of Scouting staffs, including a term as the Dean of Venturing. Harry has been to the Philmont Training Center for Venturing for District and Council Administration and Kodiak/Kodiak X Course Directors Conference. Harry Price is the recipient of the Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit and the Council Venturing Leadership Award. He has attended Summer Camp with Troop 401 for 24 years, including 7 as Scoutmaster.
Personal:
Harry Price is married with four sons and a daughter. There are three grand daughters and another grandchild on the way. Two sons achieved the Eagle Rank and one son finished Scouting as a Life Scout. Harry is employed as a Civil Engineer. He and his wife Mary, live in Farmington Hills.
Why A Century of Values:
I have a deep belief in the values of Scouting. I enjoy passing the Vision of Scouting to the participants in every training course that I am a part of. This project reinforces the common history of the Scout Councils across the country. Team 12 is a team of friends who have fun both in and out of Scouting.
